Auditions
Are You Ready to Hit the Stage?
We’re always on the lookout for talented young performers to join our cast, and auditions are a great way to show us what you’ve got.
Preparing for an audition can be exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time, but with a little preparation and practice, you’ll be ready to shine. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your audition whether it’s at Accolade or any other theatre:
Audition Prep
Read
Read the audition notice carefully: Make sure you know the date, time, and location of the audition. Read the audition notice carefully to see what the theatre is looking for.
Choose
Choose a monologue or song: You will be asked to perform a monologue or a song during the audition. Choose a piece that showcases your talents and is appropriate for your age and the theme of the production.
Practice
Practice, practice, practice: Once you have chosen your monologue or song, practice it as much as possible. Memorize your lines and rehearse in front of family and friends to get feedback.
Dress
Dress comfortably, but also dress to impress. Wear clothes that make you feel confident and ready to perform. Don't wear a costume.
Arrive Early
Arrive at the audition location early to give yourself time to relax and warm up. You'll also have time to fill out any paperwork or forms that may be required.
Confidence
When it's your turn to audition, take a deep breath, walk onto the stage, and be confident in your abilities. Remember, the directors want you to succeed!
Have fun
Finally, remember that auditions are a chance to showcase your talent and have fun. So, enjoy the experience and let your creativity shine!
